Hello babes, have you ever felt like your whole life is cluttered, like nothing feels put together at all? Every now and then that’s how my life feels. Leading a wellness life is such a good decision and we’re all different but from my experience, every time I over do it, I find myself on the receiving end of boredom, depression and FOMO and that’s when I start craving the toxic habits of partying carpe diem style.
In the end I find my life cluttered, regretting what I did over the weekend and picking up the pieces from scratch, sometimes it takes me a whole week to get my pieces back together only for the cycle to continue 2 weeks later.
Over time I’ve learned where the problem is; lack of balance, it’s like going to the gym for 3 hours once a week. Now instead of fixing my off the wagon problem, I am fixing the underlying issue. Keep scrolling for my game plan.
Ps: This is the first weekend I didn’t feel like I was missing out on something out there, I stayed in because I wanted to stay in!
Stop comparing your wellness journey to other people’s wellness journeys. Comparison in some way puts pressure on you to do much more than your mind and soul are ready for. Listen to your body and soul rhyme with it!
Understand that having a drink, going out on the town isn’t a bad thing, you are allowed to live a little, indulging every once in a while is like a reminder of what’s out there so you won’t feel left out on the fun.
Have a cheat day; I look forward to my cheat day the way nine to fivers look forward to the weekend, even the food tastes better on cheat days and not because you get to do whatever but the freedom and knowledge of deserving that’s so satisfying.
Understand that not all “these so called bad habits” are actually bad habits, it’s their misuse that’s a bad habit. Once you understand this, you will start to develop discipline and gain control over them. Like it’s okay to have a glass of wine every evening with dinner but it’s overboard to have a bottle of wine every night. Savvy?
