Fun ways to get fit

Working out can sometimes [most] get boring, a lot of my clients tell me their biggest issue is getting themselves to workout, I can relate to that, sometimes I even have to put my legs up on a wall before I work out. But after years of working out, I realized the easiest way to make sure you don’t skip your workout is to enjoy it. Once your workout is fun then you will always look forward to it especially on rough days; it becomes a little paradise for the mind. In order to enjoy it, you have to keep spicing it up every now and then. Here are some tricks I’ve picked up along the way to help keep my eyes on the ball. 

1- Find an active sport you love, this is very beneficial especially for cardio purposes. Yes running is the best cardio therapy there is but if you’re not fond of it then it’s not happening on bad days. On the contrary, a sport you love will get you through bad days. It can be your safe refuge to ignite your fire and at the same time bring you closer to that dream body you’re raving about non stop 
2- Spice up your fitness routine by signing up for a challenge like mountain climbing, triathlon where you’re involved with a team and your effort is crucial. This is a great way to put a little pressure on yourself, your determination not to let the team down will see to it that you tick off your physicals for the day 
3- Get a workout buddy with whom you hold each other accountable. This person can be your friend but I have found this most effective with people not in my personal circles, at all! Naturally we human beings have the urge to impress people we don’t even know, work with that. You can talk about boys, sports, work in a nonjudgmental space and even if they judge you, they won’t show [you can’t be offended by what you don’t see or know] this will make you look forward to your workout sessions.  
4- Squeeze in less effort exercises like walking. Ditch the elevator for the stair case, stroll to lunch, there is too much traffic during this time anyway. Also, set a target number of steps for the year, break it down to a month then week and finally day. These small victories are the ones that make the annual one eventually.
5- Mantras, find a message or saying that vibes with you in all aspects of your life and recite it every day. Honestly the only way I get through my 7 minute plank is by reciting my three mantras: I know what I want, to get what you want in life you need to deserve it and dreams don’t work unless you do. These three mantras are the reason I get up every morning, they’re pinned on all my mirrors so every time I look in the mirror, i scream it just a little louder! 
At the end of the day, discipline is key, teach yourself to respect your aspirations in life, tell your brain it’s just a moment of pain but the reward will stay forever and then just do it! Learn endurance by practicing it everyday. Remember fitness is more than a perfect body, it teaches you patience, hard work, dedication, passion, all of which are traits of successful people.
