The ab guide part 1

Hello beautiful souls, happy women’s day. For a girl whose social feed is filled with ab mirror selfies [not of self,] I can’t believe it has taken me this long to post about core strengthening! But here we go:) As you may know, the core is the midsection of the body and in order to lessen day to day body injuries, a strong core is a major key. Yes people my abs are not just for your Instagram likes, they represent my body strength too which brings me to the question, how strong is your ab game? If your answer is not that strong this post is mainly for you. 

Training the core is quite challenging but equally rewarding and the beauty of it is once you’re hooked, the rest is history. Here are some of my favorite core strengthening exercises that I owe my abs to. 

Squats with dumbbells [3 sets, 10 reps]: The focus here should be a straight back and a tucked in core 

Sit-ups [3 sets, 10 reps]: with your head in line with your spine, push your lower back down bend your knees and lift both your legs and upper body at the same time using only your abdomen so hands should be on the ears to ensure zero contact with the ground

Bicycle Crunches [3 sets, 10 reps]: This is my favorite because in addition to being one of the most effective ab routine, it also gets your cardio up! With your palms behind your ears, bend one knee to touch the opposite elbow then alternate, that’s 1 rep. 

Bridge [3 sets, 10 reps]: Full disclosure, any exercise that involves leaving my head on the floor will always have a special place in my heart. So yes, I love bridge so much. With your knees bent and arms straight on the ground, lift your hips until you form a straight line and slowly lower them back with full control using your abdomen. That’s 1 rep

Teaser [3 sets, 10 reps]: From a lying position, push your lower back down and lift both your lower body and upper body at the same with arms straight out then back to the starting point

Ps: 10 repetition [reps] make up 1 set, 3 sets means 30 repetitions taking a 5 second rest every after 10 repetitions.
