Hello beautiful people, are you trying to lead a healthy lifestyle or thought of it but have no idea where to begin? Here are a few basics principles to slowly but steadily introduce a healthy way of living in your awesome gift of life.
Drink water, water is life! Like for real, it’s good for feeling and looking healthy. We live in a society where It’s almost impossible to stay toxin free, drink water to flush them out of your system, you have a 9-5 or work hard, drink water to keep fatigue at bay, you want a skin glow like that on the Oscar red carpet, be my guest and drink the water. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! I’ve heard [also know] drinking water is boring for some of you [us] because it has no taste, try dropping in your favorite fruit, or do you just forget to drink it? Say no more, just download the WATER TIME app, its heaven sent I tell you.
Eat your fuits and vegetables. The goal here is to eat the whole rainbow LINK. I find this thus far the easiest practice of them all, maybe because the idea of putting food in my mouth gives my stomach joy. Daily consumption of these plant based foods reduces your risk of chronic diseases because they’re generally low in calories and high in vitamins and minerals, they are nutritious!
Early to bed, as Ben Franklin wrote: early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise, it is true. Going to bed on time refreshes the mind, I vouch for that; for every night I go to bed at 2200hrs, I wake up really early and that’s when I write the blog posts because my mind feels brand new. Also staying up late leads to the habit of late night snacking, meanwhile the body stores rather than burn calories taken in the night because that’s its resting time, show it some respect please!
Meditate at least for 1 minute a day; meditation is simply the act of keeping company with your mind without worrying about the outside world. This is a vital practice, you’re allowed at least a minute a day to not worry, be bothered by anything that lives outside your body, it’s not selfish but rather therapeutic. Meditation aids reduction in stress, anxiety, depression, you name it. I call it workout of the mind.
Exercise , this is a fundamental of leading a healthy lifestyle, breaking a sweat isn’t an option, you have to work your body by choosing fitness routines that best suit your mind and age; don’t be that twenty something who only walks half a kilometer and considers that exercise for the week, nope nope nope, don’t play your heart! Find a workout that you enjoy but also breaks a sweat so it won’t feel like a burden.
