Hello beautiful people,

It’s officially my favorite week of November #thanksgiving and I know am not the only one. After 2 years of being hosted by an American friend for thanksgiving, I was only bound to acknowledge this holiday. I had seen it on American TV before and thought it was this turkey recognition something something idk but it wasn’t until 2015, when I first attended a proper, typical American thanksgiving dinner party did I learn that the holiday is about being grateful and giving praise, that’s something I resonate with on so many levels.

Looking back, there is so much am thankful for but to sum it up here are my top 5 that I felt fit for sharing with you and may somehow be useful to you as well.

Being alive, my biggest fear in life is something that’s inevitable, death! I am so scared of dying and for so long it has tormented me to the point of randomly asking people if they’re scared of death but to my surprise none of them is, like NO ONE! The only good thing about it is the constant reminder of how lucky I am to be present right now, that’s enough for me, it’s the blessing, the rest I will work hard for as long as I can inhale and exhale air. If you ever wakeup feeling like shit and fed up, before any reaction, take a moment to thank the universe, God or your super power for life, nothing in the world is better than your whole existence, it’s the biggest stroke of luck there is!

Am thankful for all the people in my life, both physically and on social media [Idk if that’s the correct wording? Didn’t want to use real life and internet life, makes it seem like one isn’t real yet it actually is for me!] The people in my everyday life are great and I do thank them, am thankful for the people who were once in my life not because of cliché reasons like am better without you NO! More so because we had good times, I love reminiscing about them, for those memories will always stay dear to me. The people on my social media, first of all, TSUP FAM! Am lost without the memes but on a more serious note, thank you for the nudge to go forward. What’s weird is the fact that you probably don’t know your positive impact on my life and as far as name dropping goes, thank you @Rosiemau for making me proud of being petit. This girl’s instagram feed single handedly encouraged me to take my fitness to a whole new level, I didn’t even know abs were a thing until I stumbled upon her gram, thanks to her, I picked interest in beach life which I now love so much, @Sjana for reminding me to do yoga every other day, sometimes I just feel lazy but this girl’s feed ignites my drive. To everyone else, your words of encouragement keep me going, it really feels good to be appreciated and praised by all of you thank you!

Being part of the kwenu family: This was a major milestone for me, I first met Nuba, the brains behind Kwenu juice and salad bar earlier this year on instagram and we instantly connected #wellnessfreaks. She suggested we do something together to which I agreed but deep down I didn’t know exactly what we were going to do together and how it would impact on society but I knew it had to be authentic, have a positive impact on society and beneficial to both of us. It wasn’t until September that we finally started working together following a positive feedback about the protein salad from the snapchat family. It just felt so right given that it ticked off all my 3 concerns and working with an amazing group of people is a bonus but of course it wouldn’t have been possible without you guys so this thanksgiving, we found it fit to give away the salad for free. Head over to instagram to find out how to get it.

Being the wellness ambassador for Pearl of Africa hotel Kampala. It’s no secret that my Disney equivalent is a fitness center and with Pearl of Africa, I hit the jackpot! An instagrammable basketball and tennis court, a fully equipped gym, movie-esque changing rooms with steam bath and sauna each, 2 indoor swimming pools and 3 outdoor swimming pools, my flamingo can float all year long and don’t get me started on the A+ service, am so grateful for this opportunity and most importantly because they let me share it with you. It’s such a rewarding feeling to actually work with a brand you enjoy, its more fun than work I tell you! Head over to my Instagram to see how you can fully enjoy this gorgeous space for free this thanksgiving. Full disclosure I’ve never been to Disney so this was easy for me to say.

Travelling solo: This year, for the first time in my life, I dared to buy a ticket to a foreign country that isn’t exactly regarded as safe, meanwhile I didn’t have a ground breaking account balance either but I just went despite all the challenges I faced [checkout Johannesburg vlog] it was one of the best decisions ever! Something about travelling alone that makes you feel independent and gives you a whole new perspective to life. Thank you all the people that made it happen and to my sweet host Philip, thanks for the great memories. WARNING: It’s addictive, am now forever a wander luster…
